Anechoic Chamber for Acoustic Testing


Foam with high acoustic absorbance lines the inside of a thick, wooden cabinet. The resulting chamber suppresses echoes from the device, as well as environmental acoustic noise, during testing of transducers. In the above photo, a small testing platform holds the wafer with device prototypes, needle probes, and the calibrated microphone (LinearX M31) we use for acoustic measurements. A close-up of the testing platform is shown below.
